About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Aboriginal Health Division as a Principal Project Cultural Lead, where you will be responsible for:
- Provide cultural leadership and guidance to ensure WCHN's projects whether clinical or operational, ensuring work is culturally safe, relevant, and responsive.
- Work in partnership with the Principal Project Allyship Lead to deliver outcomes from the Innovate RAP and Strategy Refresh 2026 and beyond.
- Lead and shape the cultural dimensions and integrity of projects, drawing on cultural knowledge, lived experience, and community connections.
- Build and maintain respectful, trust-based relationships with staff, consumers, families, communities, and partners to support reconciliation and allyship.
- Support the coordination, monitoring, and sustainable implementation of reconciliation, anti-racism, and allyship initiatives across the network.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- For RN/M3 classification, registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Strong leadership with excellent communication, problem-solving, and change management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams while fostering growth and development in others.
- Proven experience managing projects from start to finish, with strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated cultural competence, including effective engagement with Aboriginal consumers and stakeholders, with knowledge of cultural sensitivity, colonisation, racism, and socioeconomic impacts on health.
- Sound knowledge of nursing and midwifery practice, healthcare issues, legislation, standards, codes of ethics, and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
