Located at our Moffat Beach office, we are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior/Project Planner with a strong background in engineering & construction, specifically with contractor experience. This position will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the program master schedule, ensuring all interfaces and projects are managed to optimise the program of works.  The ideal candidate will have experience using Primavera P6, including activity codes, experience with data analysis, reporting and have a general understanding of basic project management principles.

Responsibilities of the role include:

Project Scheduling & Planning:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project/program schedules using Primavera P6 for water industry infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure that all project milestones, tasks, and dependencies are accurately reflected in the schedule.
  • Track project progress and update schedules in a timely manner.
  • Identify potential risks or delays and work with the project team to mitigate or resolve issues.
  • Communicate schedule changes, impacts, and adjustments to project stakeholders.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Utilize Power BI to generate insightful reports and dashboards for project performance, status updates, and forecasting.
  • Provide key performance indicators (KPIs) related to schedule health and project milestones to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Analyse project data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.

Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure schedules align with project goals and timelines.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets and resources allocation.
  • Provide technical guidance on scheduling challenges, ensuring effective problem-solving.

Skills & Experience

The minimum requirements for the role are as follows:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in managing and overseeing project schedules for water infrastructure projects
  • Experience ensuring projects and delivered on time and within budget
  • Proficient in the use of MS Project/Primavera P6
  • Knowledge of Power BI for data analysis and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships
  • Ability to identify potential risks or delays and work with the project team to mitigate or resolve issues.
  • Ability to liaise positively with internal and external stakeholders
