Join Surf Life Saving Queensland in a rewarding role that directly supports the heart of our movement — our clubs and members. As a frontline development coordinator, you'll help strengthen club capability, enhance member engagement, and deliver programs that inspire the next generation of lifesavers. From recruitment and retention to junior development and member welfare, you'll play a key part in building vibrant, sustainable surf lifesaving communities across the Gold Coast region. This position is based in our Mermaid Beach office.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate and deliver State Membership Development Programs in line with SLSQ's strategic goals.
  • Support the rollout of regional and branch development initiatives tailored to local needs.
  • Prepare and analyse quarterly membership reports and assist clubs with data-driven improvements.
  • Drive recruitment, retention, and recognition activities that celebrate and grow our volunteer base.
  • Represent SLSQ by attending club, branch, regional, and state meetings as required.
  • Build strong relationships and maintain regular contact with key stakeholders across clubs and branches.
  • Support clubs in meeting Safeguarding Children & Young People standards and Membership Protection Policies.
  • Communicate key updates to members via EDMs and other channels, ensuring engagement and alignment.
  • Contribute to the coordination and delivery of other SLSQ programs as needed.
  • Provide advice and support on member welfare and protection, ensuring compliance and awareness.
  • Conduct annual junior activities health checks and support continuous improvement.

About You:

  • Working with Children Blue Card.
  • In depth knowledge of Surf Lifesaving & Membership programs.
  • Flexibility to attend camps, programs, and meetings that may occur outside of regular business hours.
  • Experience in project or event management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in particular, experience writing evaluation reports.
  • Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
  • High level computer skills including Microsoft Office.
