About the Opportunity

We are seeking two experienced Senior Database Administrators to join our team, with 1 x SQL focused role and 1 x Intersystems IRIS focused role.

These positions are instrumental in ensuring the performance, availability, and integrity of critical data systems that underpin healthcare delivery.

In this key role, you will lead the design, management, and optimisation of our core operational database and reporting database systems ensuring the seamless delivery of complex queries, software changes, and operational improvements that meet the needs of internal teams and external stakeholders. Your deep technical expertise will support ongoing innovation, performance monitoring, and the implementation of secure, scalable, and self-service data capabilities across on-premise and cloud environments.

In this role, you will:

  • Optimise performance monitoring, fault resolution, and automation of routine database operations.
  • Utilise Infrastructure as Code tools to provision and manage AWS resources.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and self-service data solutions.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Extensive experience in advanced SQL Server administration, including installations, configurations, and support across on-premise and AWS environments.
  • Proven success in SQL database operations, with a strong focus on reporting as well as troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for provisioning AWS cloud resources.

Senior Database Administrator – Intersystems IRIS

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the configuration, administration, and support of Intersystems IRIS databases hosted in AWS.
  • Implement ongoing copies, backups and replications across multiple environments and availability zones.
  • Enhance operational efficiencies through performance tuning and automation.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Advanced Intersystems IRIS database administration, including installation, configuration, and support
  • Strong proficiency with RedHat Linux Administration for support of the underlying operating systems hosting the IRIS instances.
  • We would also consider multi-DB capable DBAs with a learning mindset but must still have strong Linux Administration capability.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to transforming healthcare delivery across NSW, ensuring connected, efficient, and secure patient care experiences through high-performing data systems.
