We seek an experienced IT Sourcing Lead with strong communication skills and a strong collaborative ethic for this initial 3+3 month contract in Perth.

Contract Term - 3-6 months

Position Overview

The IT Sourcing Manager provides operational and strategic support in the procurement of ICT products and services. This role works closely with the IT Procurement Officer to manage procurement volumes and ensure compliance, value-for-money outcomes, and timely service delivery. This role offers guidance, market insight, and hands-on assistance across the ICT procurement lifecycle.

Position Responsibilities

Operational Procurement Support

  • Assists with the coordination and processing of ICT procurement requests, ensuring compliance with WA Government procurement rules and agency policies.
  • Supports the preparation of procurement documentation, including business cases, procurement plans, tender documents, and evaluation reports.
  • Provides hands-on support in managing procurement timelines and stakeholder communications.

Supervision and Mentorship

  • Supervises and mentors the IT Procurement Officer, supporting their development and ensuring consistent procurement practices.
  • Assists in workload prioritisation and resolution of procurement-related queries.

Strategic Sourcing and Advice

  • Applies market intelligence and public sector procurement knowledge to support sourcing decisions.
  • Contributes to the development and refinement of ICT sourcing strategies and practices.
  • Supports the formation and execution of ICT tenders and contracts.
  • Understand IT budget allocations and ensure procurement activities align with financial planning.

Contract and Vendor Support

  • Assists in monitoring vendor performance and compliance with contract terms.
  • Supports contract lifecycle activities including negotiation, variation, and termination.
  • Maintains procurement records and documentation to meet audit and compliance standards.

Collaboration and Representation

  • Works with IT leaders, business units, and corporate procurement to align procurement activities with organisational goals.
  • Regular engagement with the Finance department
  • Participates in relevant working groups and forums to stay informed of sector-wide procurement developments.

Corporate Responsibilities

  • Upholds the Insurance Commission's values of accountability, professional integrity, and respect.
  • Ensures all correspondence and documentation meet professional standards.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Work Related Requirements

  • Manage ICT procurement volumes and support operational delivery.
  • Supervise and mentor junior procurement staff.
  • Prepare and review procurement documentation in line with WA Government standards.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance and documentation standards.

Pre-engagement Requirements

  • Satisfactory National Police Clearance (no more than six months old)
  • Evidence of Australian residency or right to work
  • Evidence of essential qualifications or professional memberships (if applicable)
