As a MelSafe Operations Response Officer, you'll be on the frontline, out in the community, responding to a range of incidents – from local law and animal control matters to welfare checks and antisocial behaviour.
This role is fast-paced, varied and has a real impact on the safety and wellbeing of our community.
Location: City of Melville Operations Centre
Base Salary: Level 4, $ $53.99 per hour (incl 25% casual loading) + 12% Super

What You'll Do
- Patrol and respond across the City (day, afternoon & night shifts)
- Take proactive action to prevent and deter community safety and compliance issues
- Investigate and enforce under the Dog Act, Cat Act, Local Laws & more
- Handle animal management, parking, noise, litter & security-style responses
- Provide initial response to incidents before escalation to Investigations Officers if required
- Collaborate with WA Police and partner agencies
- Use modern technology for dispatch, reporting, and evidence collection
What We're Looking For
- Current C Class Driver's Licence & National Police Clearance
- Extensive experience or qualifications in compliance, investigations, or local laws (ROCS 1 & 2)
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and its application
- Proactive, adaptable, and calm under pressure
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
- Physically fit and resilient for a fast-moving role
Desirable: Experience in court experience, ranger services, animal management (dangerous dog handling), investigations or enforcement roles
