We are seeking an experienced and professionally presented live-in management couple to oversee all aspects of running a large, family-owned 60-room motel located in the picturesque Hunter Valley region of NSW.

This is a hands-on, full-time role for a dynamic and reliable couple who will take full responsibility for the daily operations, upkeep, and guest experience at a long-established and highly regarded regional property.

About the Role

As a management couple, you will be responsible for overseeing both front-of-house operations and property maintenance, including:

Guest Services & Administration

  • Managing all check-in/check-out and guest communications
  • Handling reservations via direct, online, and third-party booking channels
  • Ensuring a warm, welcoming, and professional guest experience at all times
  • Managing daily finances and reconciliations
  • Overseeing housekeeping standards and room presentation
  • Preparing weekly operational reports for the owners
  • Reporting maintenance, guest feedback, and business updates regularly

Systems & Software

  • Confident use of Motelier, MEWS, SiteMinder, or similar PMS/channel managers
  • Experience with property management systems and channel management platforms, with similar systems to Motelier, MEWS, or SiteMinder being acceptable
  • Proficient in Xero for day-to-day financial reporting and reconciliation
  • Comfortable with email, Microsoft Office, and cloud-based platforms

Property & Garden Maintenance

  • General repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Pool care and outdoor area upkeep
  • Maintaining extensive hedging, gardens, and lawn areas to a high standard
  • Coordinating external trades as needed
  • Ensuring all guest facilities are clean, functional, and well presented

About You

The ideal candidates will be:

  • A couple with proven experience in motel or accommodation management
  • Well-groomed and professionally presented — you are the face of the business and must reflect the property's high standards
  • Warm, confident, and guest-focused
  • Tech-savvy and experienced with modern booking and reporting systems
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with strong communication and reporting skills
  • Physically fit and able to handle hands-on gardening and maintenance tasks
  • Comfortable living onsite and working closely together as a team
  • Committed to maintaining the property to a high standard of presentation and care
