**Project Overview**
Genus is proud to be delivering a transformative infrastructure project as part of the Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone (REZ)—one of the first five REZs being developed by the NSW Government. In partnership with Ausgrid, Genus has been awarded a major contract to lead the sub-transmission line works that will power the future of clean energy in New South Wales.
**Project Scope**
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a $140 million infrastructure initiative that will enable over 1 gigawatt of renewable energy to connect to the grid, supporting Australia’s clean energy transition and leaving a lasting legacy.
- Demolition of 66kV sub-transmission lines to make way for modern infrastructure
- Construction of over 100 km of new 132kV dual/single circuit sub-transmission lines
- Installation of advanced optical ground wire and fibre optic cable systems
- A multi-year delivery program running through to 2028
Reporting to the Project Director, the **Construction Manager**responsibilities will include:
- Work closely with the Senior Project Manager and Project Engineers to plan and coordinate daily site activities
- Be responsible for all construction related activities, work crews and plant operating on-site
- Oversee and be accountable for subcontractors with a goal of building relationships with local contractors and vendors.
- Work closely with the Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager for third-party interfacing with ARTC, TfNSW and private landowners
- Attend coordination and progress meetings; make regular trips to sites during construction
- Work closely with Project Engineers to document quality assurance and safety inspections throughout the construction process
- Contribute to and own construction management plans and associated documents, ensuring monitor contract obligations
- Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions.
- Promote a strong Safety culture through leading by example and maintaining a high standard on and off site with field crews.
**Essential Skills / Qualifications/Experience**
- Trade Certificate
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in managing high performance teams.
- Demonstrated good safety record and knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety.
- Valid Driver’s License
- OHS Construction Induction Card
- High level customer relationship management and interpersonal skills.
**About You**
- Hands on who can take the lead engaging and overseeing subcontractors.
- Experience with HV installations and overseeing a predominately civil based job.
