Randstad Senior Finance is partnering with an FMCG business who are looking to recruit an experienced Project Financial Controller on a fixed term contract for 18 months.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the end-to-end financial control of a significant $300m CAPEX project to build a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant. You'll be the go-to finance expert on this project, ensuring its financial success from start to finish.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will:

  • Oversee all project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the $300m CAPEX spend.
  • Establish and maintain robust financial controls and governance frameworks to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial analysis to inform key business decisions and project strategy.
  • Manage all project accounting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Act as a key business partner to the construction team, providing strategic financial advice and support.
  • Present financial performance and updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

You will be a qualified finance professional (CA/CPA) with proven experience as a Financial Controller in a similar project-based finance role, ideally within a construction envrionment.

You will have:

  • Strong technical accounting skills and a deep understanding of financial controls and governance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with construction, finance and non-finance teams.
  • A proactive and meticulous approach, with a keen eye for detail.
  • The ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fast-paced project environment.

This is a hybrid opportunity that will afford the successful candidate the ability to split their time between several locations, namely working from home, working from the builders offices in Port Melbourne and the company offices Melbourne CBD. Occasional, as-required, travel to the site of the new facility in regional Victoria (3 hours from Melbourne) will also be required. This will be expected once or twice per month.
