About the Role

As well as providing information to residents on waste and recycling matters, the position will conduct visual inspection audits of kerbside Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO), general waste and recycling bins at specified areas within the City. The role also provides support in the following areas:

  • Facilitation of workshops and events to encourage waste minimisation and recycling and promote awareness to schools, businesses and the community.
  • Implementation of actions as defined in the City's Waste Strategy , particularly those types of an educational activity.
  • Delivery of waste and recycling projects under the City's Waste Strategy , specifically the implementation of FOGO.

What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, with high-level attention to detail and accuracy in data recording
  • A moderate level of physical fitness
  • Current knowledge of recycling procedures (desirable)
  • Availability for at least three days from Monday-Friday, as well as a willingness to work some after hours and on weekends as required for workshops and events. The opportunity will be to cover leave for the first few weeks, then will transition to assisting with events and projects, with hours and shifts adapting as required.
