About the role
Assure Rehab Pty Ltd, a leading provider of rehabilitation services, is seeking an experienced Senior Medicolegal Occupational Therapist to join our team in Melbourne, VIC. This is a contract position, offering the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and contribute to the growth and success of our organisation. Interstate travel is optional for medicolegal assessments.
What you'll be doing
- Conduct thorough and comprehensive medicolegal assessments of clients, focusing on occupational function and the impact of injuries or conditions
- Prepare detailed and well-structured medicolegal reports that clearly articulate the client's functional capacity, future rehabilitation needs and the impact of their condition
- Collaborate with legal professionals, insurers and other stakeholders to provide expert testimony and support the resolution of compensation claims
- Develop and implement tailored rehabilitation plans to assist clients in achieving their functional goals
- Stay up-to-date with changes in medicolegal regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance and the delivery of high-quality services
- Mentor and support more junior occupational therapists within the team
What we're looking for
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, with at least 5 years of post-graduate experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the assessment and management of medicolegal cases, particularly in the areas of injury, disability and functional capacity
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with a range of stakeholders
- A demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
- Proven ability to work independently, manage a complex caseload and provide mentorship to junior team members
