About the role

Southcoast carpentry and maintenance is seeking a skilled carpenter and handyperson to join our team on a contract basis. Based in Wollongong NSW 2500, this role will involve a variety of general maintenance and carpentry tasks to support our clients across the Illawarra region.

What you'll be doing

  1. Undertaking a range of carpentry and maintenance work, including installing fixtures, repairing furniture, and completing other general handyperson tasks
  2. Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and determining the best course of action to resolve them
  3. Liaising with clients to understand their requirements and deliver a high standard of workmanship
  4. Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment, and ensuring all tools and equipment are well-maintained
  5. Providing advice and recommendations to clients on home improvement and maintenance projects

What we're looking for

  1. Proven experience as a carpenter and handyperson, with a strong understanding of construction principles and building maintenance
  2. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work autonomously to resolve issues
  3. Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
  4. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  5. A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
