As a Lawyer in our Consumer Legal team, you'll provide expert legal advice across insurance products, distribution, and regulatory matters. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to simplify complex legal issues and drive strategic outcomes that protect and advance Suncorp's interests.
What You'll Do
- Provide high-quality legal advice on insurance products, distribution models, and marketing campaigns across major brands like AAMI
- Advise on regulatory compliance including ASIC, APRA, privacy legislation, and financial services law
- Draft and review key contractual documents including policy wordings, PDSs, and statutory notices
- Contribute to a high-performing, engaged legal team
- Partner with stakeholders to deliver business-ready legal solutions that simplify complexity
- Support continuous improvement and innovation in legal service delivery
What You'll Bring
- Admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in any Australian Court and a current Practising Certificate
- 5+ years post-admission experience in financial services law, including the Insurance Contracts Act and Corporations Act
- Experience in a top-tier law firm or large general insurer is highly desirable
- Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to translate legal complexity into actionable advice
- High ethical standards, agility under pressure, and a collaborative mindset
- Skilled communicator with a focus on customer service and relationship management
