Lead major transport projects across Queensland with real ownership and influence.
Our client is seeking an experienced delivery leader to step into a Major Projects Director role focused on significant D&C transport infrastructure.
This position suits someone who wants to remain close to the project delivery work while leading the pursuit, tender and delivery phases of some of Queensland's most critical road and transport programs.
You will step into a major project environment where program leadership, design management, client engagement and multidisciplinary coordination are central to the success of each project.
The portfolio includes projects from $100 million through to more than $1 billion across joint venture and direct delivery environments.
This is a rare opportunity to join a consultancy known for technical excellence, strong client relationships and a consistent record of delivery across the transport sector.
The business has grown steadily over more than fifty years and is respected for its practical design approach, high standards and its commitment to building long term partnerships.
The organisation is also supported by an international parent group in the transport engineering sector which strengthens its capability, investment and access to global expertise.
As a leader within the transport consulting function, you'll remain close to delivery and client interface and key responsibilities include:
- Leading project delivery across medium to large transport projects, providing design management and technical leadership to achieve exceptional outcomes
- Playing a pivotal role in the growth and technical development of the transport team and supporting the wider transport group
- Performing engineering duties as an RPEQ in planning, design and documentation including technical reports and drawings
- Supporting business development by contributing to proposals and articulating technical and delivery capability
- Mentoring junior engineers, supporting their professional development and progression toward qualifications
You'll bring to the table:
- Strong experience in civil or structural design leadership and progression into design management
- An inclusive and collaborative leadership style
- A background in major transport infrastructure and D&C environments
- Demonstrated capability delivering complex, high value transport projects
- Experience engaging with government transport clients and tier one partners
- A balanced leadership style that remains close to delivery while providing clear direction
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related discipline
- Chartered status preferred and RPEQ or ability to obtain within six months
- Demonstrable experience delivering major road projects in Queensland or similar regions
- Strong understanding of TMR standards and requirements
- Established industry relationships, particularly with TMR
- Strong technical and non technical communication skills
This role offers the chance to shape major transport outcomes for Queensland while building a long-term career within a consultancy that places technical excellence, integrity and client trust at the centre of its work.
