About The Role
This position is an ongoing, part time, job share role for a Senior Area Manager to work within one of three clusters with the Victorian Infant Hearing Screening Program. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of newborn hearing screening across a regional cluster of Victorian maternity hospitals. You will provide strategic and operational leadership, supervise Area Managers, ensure adherence to national and program standards, and foster a high-performance culture focused on quality improvement and equitable service access.
Classification for this position will be AO71 Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement
What You'll Achieve
- Contribute to the early detection of newborn hearing loss, ensuring that infants receive timely diagnosis and intervention.
- Ensure newborn hearing screening activities are family-centred, timely, and uphold the high standards of VIHSP.
- Provide direct leadership and supervision to Area Managers fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Work effectively as part of the VIHSP leadership team to support newborn hearing care.
Your Skills And Experience
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanour with families, stakeholders and other team members.
- Ability to support and lead others towards accomplishing goals and tasks.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent computer and data management skills
- Experience or ability to work in a hospital environment.
- Experience or comfort working with newborns.

About The Department
The Victorian Infant Hearing Screening Program (VIHSP) is dedicated to early detection of hearing loss in newborns across Victoria, ensuring timely intervention and support for affected families. Operating within the Centre for Community Child Health, the program works closely with hospitals and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality hearing screening services, contributing to the overall health and development of infants.

- Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
- A current Victorian Drivers Licence, as the ability to travel between maternity hospitals is essential.
- Compliance with RCHs "Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases" procedure.
