ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic Creative Project Manager to lead the delivery of innovative brand and marketing campaigns for AFL and AFLW. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to deliver high-impact creative campaigns that strengthen the AFL brand and drive fan engagement across Australia's premier sporting organisation.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic project leader with proven experience in managing integrated creative campaigns from concept to delivery. You'll be part of a team that collaborates with internal brand, marketing, and creative teams to produce compelling campaigns that resonates with AFL and AFLW's diverse audiences.

We're looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at stakeholder management, and has a passion for creative project management. Your expertise, combined with brand understanding and creative insight, will be essential in delivering campaigns that drive audience engagement, brand awareness, and fan connection.

Please note this is a max-term parental leave cover until December 2026.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Leadership
  • Develop deep understanding of AFL and AFLW brand strategy, target audiences, and content portfolio to deliver effective marketing campaigns
  • Oversee creative projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and delivery of expected outcomes with clear production timelines and approval strategies
  • Ensure smooth delivery of brand and marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including video, social media, editorial, digital platforms, and traditional media
  • Collaborate with Brand Managers, Creative Director, Marketing and Creative Teams, whilst managing timelines, budgets, resources, and stakeholder expectations
  • Collaborate with Studio Manager on priorities and production resources for projects, ensuring assets are delivered on time, and to vision
  • Engage relevant stakeholders within AFL, as well as commercial partners and clubs, when required
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during project execution, facilitating communication between creative, brand, marketing, and operational teams
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with AFL Brand Teams, Marketing Departments, and internal creative stakeholders
  • Interpret and action creative briefs efficiently, coordinating cross-functional teams to develop innovative brand solutions
  • Build credibility with stakeholders by assuming the role of trusted advisor to manage creative ambiguity and problem-solve production challenges
  • Identify opportunities for creative excellence and brand enhancement through exceptional project delivery
Financial Management
  • Monitor project budgets, ensuring delivery within financial parameters
  • Provide accurate quotes and oversee supplier invoicing and project reconciliation processes
  • Track expenses and deliver regular financial reporting
Operational Excellence
  • Coordinate production timelines across multiple media formats and distribution channels
  • Anticipate project needs and manage creative workflow to prevent bottlenecks
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement creative production best practices
  • Champion AFL and AFLW brand initiatives in alignment with broader marketing strategies
  • Maintain detailed project documentation and support creative asset management systems
