As the Junior Sous Chef you will assist the Head Chef in leading our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences that complement our vibrant atmosphere and commitment to quality. Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef to lead service and inspire a team of kitchen staff to execute creative and high-quality dishes in a high volume environment
- Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and organization
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop seasonal menus using fresh ingredients, specials, and promotional events that reflect current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment that encourages creativity, growth, and teamwork among kitchen staff with an inclusive approach to training and developing staff
- Oversee aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, inventory management, cost control (food and wages) and kitchen hygiene
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar high-volume, quality-driven environment
- Experience in Aussie pub cuisine is a must
- Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating innovative and delicious dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, with a commitment to upholding best practices
- Creative flair and the ability to develop and execute menu concepts that resonate with our target audience
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
