Bretts is opening a large, high-profile trade store in Raceview — and we're looking for an experienced Manager to lead the way. This is a unique opportunity to take the reins of a brand-new operation, build a high-performing team, and set the benchmark for operational excellence and customer service in the building and construction industry.

About the Role

As Site Manager, you'll have full accountability for the performance and success of the new operation. You'll lead from the front, shaping the culture, setting high standards, and ensuring the site becomes the go-to destination for trade and building customers in the region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, motivating, and developing a multidisciplinary team across yard operations, counter sales, deliveries, and site admin.
  • Driving sales growth and profitability while delivering outstanding customer experiences.
  • Managing daily store operations — from trade counter and dispatch through to logistics and site presentation.
  • Building strong relationships with trade customers and industry partners.
  • Overseeing stock control, budgeting, safety compliance, and performance management.
  • Championing Bretts' values and embedding a culture of safety, service, and continuous improvement.

About You

You're a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced trade environment and knows how to inspire a team to achieve big goals. With a strong background in timber, trade, or building supplies, you'll bring commercial acumen, operational know-how, and a genuine passion for customer service.

We're looking for someone with:

  • 5+ years' leadership experience in timber, trade, building supplies, or related retail.
  • Solid knowledge of timber, hardware, and building or related products.
  • Strong people leadership and coaching skills.
  • Commercial skills in budgeting, stock management, and supplier negotiations.
  • Proven ability to build lasting trade customer relationships.
  • A results-driven mindset, with persistence, problem-solving ability, and a knack for overcoming challenges.
  • Current QLD Driver's License
