What To Expect
Reporting to the EHS Lead for Australia & New Zealand, the Associate EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) Specialist, Automotive Sales, Delivery, Service & Collision is responsible for influencing operational safety culture, assisting in managing regulatory compliance documentation and driving overall risk reduction, aimed at driving EHS excellence throughout the Automotive Service, Sales, Delivery and Logistics Organisation in Australia & New Zealand. The position will interface with regional leadership, front-line operational staff as well as other support teams within Tesla and will drive and support continuous improvement. This position will assist in development of strategies as well as implement and drive EHS policies, programs and procedures across Automotive SSD operations.
This position can be based out of any major Australia or New Zealand Tesla Service Centre. The successful candidate will need to be open to regular regional and interstate travel.
What You'll Do- Develops and nurtures a partnership with and is a key advisor to leadership, EHS representatives, and front-line staff within Automotive SSD operations. Directly or indirectly provides information and tools to allow Automotive SSD operations personnel to drive EHS excellence every day.
- Assists with the maintenance of EHS documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Conduct workplace inspections, participate in EHS sponsored initiatives, drives continuous improvement through hazard reporting, and support emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Supports incident investigations and the creation and completion of key actions from investigation learnings.
- Conducts and/or reviews risk assessments and provides advice on safety improvements.
- Assists with contractor management and related systems and processes.
- Assists with the management of vendor-led services for health monitoring, waste management, personal protective equipment, training etc.
- Assists with chemical safety in the workplace.
- Facilitates the creation and implementation of emergency action plans for responding to emergencies.
- Manages and analyses hazard and incident data and reports trends, recommends and supports risk-reduction plans and corrective and preventive actions.
- Facilitate safety committee meetings and other employee engagement initiatives, including onboarding and safety presentations.
- Provides EHS assistance to field projects as needed.
- Supports operations at Tesla-operated premises as well as remote locations.
What You'll Bring- Qualification in Health and Safety, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, or other safety-related discipline or similar. However, participants with strong industry knowledge without a formal qualification will be considered.
- Relevant experience in the technology, energy or automative industry or similar environment. Prior knowledge of electric vehicles, charging products or infrastructure, or service operations preferred.
- Strong organisation skills and a proven capabilities to manage multiple projects concurrently with an attention to detail.
- Practical, hands-on knowledge of some or all of the following:
- - Electrical safety
- - Supporting operations across multiple sites
- - Workplace inspections
- - Risk assessments
- - Training and education activities.
- - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
- - Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and self-directed.
- - Proficiency with standard business software, including word processing, presentations, spreadsheets and email communication.
- - Ability and willingness to travel interstate/ regionally up to 20%.

- The role will require regular travel between sites across Australia & New Zealand.
