Agracom is a privately owned grain marketing and agricultural commodity trading business based in North West NSW. From its regional headquarters, Agracom has developed a proven reputation as a successful exporter of containerised grain and is a well recognized buyer and seller of grains, pulses and oilseeds in domestic markets throughout Queensland, NSW and Victoria.

An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Assistant Accountant to join our finance team, which is based in the company's Quirindi head office.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with accurate recording of accounting transactions
  • Assisting with preparing financial reports and month end processes
  • Assisting with cash flow management and other treasury functions
  • Providing support to the export documentation function
  • Credit control management
  • Preparing BAS and other statutory returns
  • Engaging with stakeholders (internal and external) to achieve successful business outcomes
  • Assisting other team members as required

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Strong accounting knowledge with a relevant tertiary qualification (and ideally working towards CPA or CA)
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to learn and use other systems and software
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • The ability to work well within a small and very effective team
  • Previous experience in agriculture, commodity exports or international trade will be highly regarded but is not essential
