Darlington, South Australia Harrison McMillan Full time $60,000 - $80,000 per year

It's different at Kalyra

Are you caring, compassionate and looking for more than just a job? At Kalyra, we're a community, a family and a choice to make a positive impact in people's lives.

For more than 130 years, our dedicated team has been supporting South Australians to enjoy life as they age. As a Home Support Worker, you'll be right at the heart of our impact. You'll see the difference you make in every moment, big and small, and enjoy plenty of variety and the flexibility to fit your lifestyle. Be welcomed by a good-hearted and values-driven team that supports you through every challenge and win.

Your opportunity

As a valued member of our Help at Home team in Southern Adelaide, you will empower older people in our communities to live life the way they choose. Travelling between our customers' homes, you'll provide personalised care and social support in line with individual support plans, ensuring our customers maintain their independence, dignity, safety and wellbeing.

Kalyra welcomes candidates who are looking to return to the workforce after a career break. Due to the nature of the role, working hours may vary and may not be consistent throughout the day. Flexibility and adaptability are key.

With kindness and compassion, you will:

  • Provide personal care, including assistance with showering, grooming, personal hygiene, dressing and mobility needs

  • Assist with daily and domestic tasks, such as household cleaning, meal preparation and shopping assistance

  • Support customers to engage in social activities, providing transportation to activities as required

  • Observe any physical, emotional and behavioural changes, and report any concerns

  • Nurture respectful, friendly and professional relationships with customers and their families

  • Be capable of working independently

Please note: This role is located in Darlington, SA, and involves travelling directly between clients within the local area and more southern regions.

What you'll bring

You're a compassionate, resilient and good-hearted person who deeply respects and seeks to enhance the strengths and dignity of older people. Through your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you establish and maintain professional relationships, ensure confidentiality and respect our customers' values.

You'll also need:

  • A reliable vehicle and current driver's licence

  • A National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)

  • 3 x COVID-19 vaccinations and annual influenza vaccination

  • Current First Aid and CPR accreditation

  • A smartphone to access the mobile worker app

It's not essential but we'd love it if you have a Certificate III in Home and Community Care, Individual Support or Disability. Don't have that? Don't worry. What matters most is that you share our values of caring, commitment, strengths, community and enabling.

Why Kalyra?

At Kalyra, we're committed to making lives better - and that includes yours. More than a team, we're a family where you'll always find a listening ear and support when you need it. You'll also be empowered by genuine leaders who help you create the life and career you want, with ongoing training and opportunities to progress.

On top of that, here are just some of the tangible benefits you'll find at Kalyra:

  • Flexible, family-friendly working arrangements

  • Increased take-home pay by up to $15,899 with salary packaging, plus a tax- free meal and entertainment card worth up to $2,650

  • 0.96c per kilometre reimbursement and paid travel time between clients

  • Annual "thank you" dinner, plus an end-of-year celebration with a gift of appreciation

  • Employee assistance and wellbeing programs, including confidential counselling, and free vaccinations
