The team at Garmin are looking to expand. If you enjoy travelling, are passionate about Diving, Hunting and the Outdoors, then we have a position for you. We're looking for a Regional Sales Representative to cultivate, expand and develop sales within the Outdoor segment, focusing on the 4x4, Outdoor/Diving and PND categories in NSW and the ACT.

Key responsibilities include fostering relationships with retailers, distributors, and key industry partners, promoting Garmin Outdoor products, and executing strategic sales initiatives. This position requires regular travel within NSW and ACT, to engage with clients, provide product support, and represent the company at industry events. Collaboration with internal teams, including marketing and product management, is essential to ensure alignment with business goals and market demands.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Promote and represent Garmin products in a professional and engaging manner through reseller and business-to-business (B2B) channels, ensuring strong brand visibility and market presence.

  • Develop and implement sales plans and promotional initiatives to drive revenue growth, increase market share and achieve sales targets.

  • Build, manage and maintain strong relationships with dealers and existing accounts, ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction and business development.

  • Provide comprehensive support to resellers, including product guidance and sales to facilitate revenue generation and enhance the overall customer experience.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within NSW and ACT, focusing on expanding the company's reach and strengthening our market position.

  • Drive the development of new market segments by identifying potential growth areas and tailoring sales strategies to meet the unique needs of emerging customers.

  • Create and implement effective sales strategies to grow revenue with independent dealer networks, ensuring long-term business sustainability and profitability.

  • Continuously analyse market trends, customer demands and competitor strategies within NSW and ACT, to refine sale approaches and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Deliver impactful and persuasive sales presentations to both prospective and existing accounts, effectively communicating product benefits and value propositions.

  • Participate and assist with the planning and execution of trade and consumer shows across Australia and overseas, including occasional weekend work, to engage with key industry stakeholders.

  • Travel extensively within NSW and ACT, often independently, to maintain regular customer engagement and support business objectives.

  • Active thorough understanding of the uses and general functions of Garmin outdoor products, and other electronics in the hunting, 4x4 and diving markets, ensuring an ability to educate and support customers effectively.

  • Conduct dealer product training sessions, when required, to enhance product knowledge and sales effectiveness.

  • Prepare and submit detailed trip reports, sales updates, and market insights in a timely manner to ensure clear communication with management.

  • Maintain in-depth product and pricing knowledge, to provide accurate information and support sales efforts.

  • Execute retail merchandising and in-store marketing promotions to enhance product visibility and optimise sales performance.

  • Attend ongoing training, team meetings, and regular sales meetings, as required, to ensure alignment with company objectives.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other work-related duties, as assigned.

  • Adhere to established policies and procedures.

  • Work effectively and professionally with other team members, learn from and share knowledge with others by documenting and contributing to knowledge base.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 2 years' experience in a sales capacity, preferably within the Outdoor or consumer electronics industries.

  • Demonstrated self-motivated, results-driven salesperson, with excellent time management skills, ensuring productivity and efficiency while balancing travel, client meetings and administrative responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated proactive and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to take initiative, solve problems, and continuously seek new opportunities for business growth.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, colleagues and industry professionals to build strong, long-lasting relationships.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport, influence decision-makers, and provide outstanding customer service in a competitive sales environment.

  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail, while ensuring accuracy in reporting, documentation and data management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and other relevant software applications, with the ability to generate reports, track sales performance and analyse data effectively.

  • Strong ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects and adapt to changing deadlines and business needs in a fast-paced sales environment.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating across all business units to ensure execution of strategies.

  • Hands on experience with GPS devices and consumer electronics, with a solid understanding of their applications in the hunting, 4x4 and diving markets.

  • Confident and engaging presentation skills, with the ability to deliver sales and product demonstrations to a variety of audiences.

  • Valid driver's license and passport, with the ability and willingness to travel extensively across NSW, ACT, and internationally, as required.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience selling to consumer retail.

  • Active enthusiast and participant in outdoor recreational activities including running, cycling, swimming, golf, hunting, hiking, 4x4, and SCUBA/spearfishing/freediving
