The role

Avanti Heavy Haulage Aust Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced MC Truck Driver to join our team in Albion Park, NSW. As a full-time employee, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of heavy machinery and Oversize plant & equipment across our regional and interstate operations throughout Australia.

Key responsibilities

  1. Must have extensive experience in the Heavy Haulage Industry and be competent
  2. Plan routes and work with permits as required including Pilot Vehicles.
  3. Safely operate and maneuver large commercial vehicles, including 5 x 8 low loader with 2 x 8 dolly (Drake Trailers) and Platform Trailers and Deck Wideners.
  4. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness
  5. Load and unload machinery using appropriate equipment and techniques
  6. Maintain accurate logbooks and comply with all relevant regulations and safety standards
  7. Must hold BFM Certificate.
  8. Must be mechanically minded and quick to think on your feet, and contribute to the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the fleet
  9. Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients
  10. Must be able to work un-supervised, have good communications skills and a good communicator.
  11. Must be a Team Player

What we're looking for

  1. MC class driver's licence with a minimum of 3 years' experience in heavy vehicle operations
  2. Strong knowledge of road transport regulations, including load restraint and fatigue management BFM Accredited
  3. Must have understanding of OSOM Moves and NHVR, MVR NT, MAIN ROADS WA, rules and regulations
  4. Exceptional driving skills and the ability to handle large, heavy vehicles with precision
  5. Commitment to safe work practices and attention to detail
  6. Excellent communication and customer service skills
  7. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends and travel interstate as required
