As Communications Coordinator (Graduate Research) at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing the experience of over 5000 graduate researchers and their supervisors across nine faculties. You'll develop engaging digital content, manage internal communications, and collaborate with key stakeholders to enable best practice in graduate research. This role offers you the chance to directly impact the success of one of Australia's largest and most diverse graduate research communities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop and Optimise Digital Content: Create engaging internal-facing web content with a focus on customer experience, ensuring accessibility and SEO best practices.
Manage Internal Communications: Produce high-quality materials for websites, intranets, newsletters, and social content, including coordinating video content development.
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage with academic and professional staff to understand user needs and document information requirements.
Conduct Research and Analysis: Perform content audits, analyse user experience, and contribute to customer journey mapping.
You may be a great fit if:
You are a creative and detail-oriented communications professional with excellent writing skills, a customer-centric approach, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced academic environment.
You may also:
Have a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
Possess extensive experience in developing customer-centered web copy and understanding of web best practices.
Demonstrate knowledge of HTML and SEO principles.
Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
Show excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
Have experience with content management systems (Squiz Matrix CMS is desirable).
Understand the academic and personal issues facing graduate researchers.
