The Role
We are seeking a dynamic Sales and Marketing Lead to lead and drive the performance of our Local Agent business, with full P&L accountability. This role requires a deep understanding of key Local Agent partners, business model, acquisition costs, and growth trajectories.
As the Sales and Marketing Lead, you will define and execute the Local Agent growth strategy, managing relationships with key affiliates and distributors, hotels, retail stores, and travel and tourism partners who utilise our platform. You will also spearhead the marketing efforts for the Experience Oz brand within the Local Agent channel, collaborating closely with the consumer marketing team to achieve shared brand objectives.
By leveraging the platform's assets, you will scale the business, enhance value for both customers and partners, and optimise operational efficiency. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Local Agent business and driving its success.
Role Overview
- Gain clarity over the key areas and partner types that drive Local Agent revenue and profitability.
- Reset the Local Agent business approach across sales and marketing to maximise effectiveness.
- Design and implement an account matrix to segment partners into categories (key accounts, rising accounts, and long-tail partners). Develop tailored strategies to acquire, support, and grow each segment.
- Assess current sales and marketing strategies including current events, magazines, EDMs, value props, training and onboarding support materials.
- Develop a simple and effective marketing plan and define the marketing support required to drive Local Agent success, including the role of Experience Oz consumer in supporting partner growth and consumer engagement.
- Work with supply on a clear category and state-based acquisition brief that delivers products Local Agents are likely to sell.
- Review and reset relationships and operational support for partners, retail stores, JVs and partner success. Looking to automate or use AI to add efficiency and value.
- Build an engaged and motivated team excited to see momentum build and the impact of their work come to life.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Manage and grow the local agent business, including partnerships with key affiliates/distributors, hotels, retail stores, and key travel and tourism operators.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue and growth targets.
- Lead and mentor a team based on the Gold Coast.
- Work directly to support our key JV partners in Melbourne and TTNQ.
- Cultivate relationships with Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) and State Tourism Organisations(STOs) to maximize partnership opportunities.
Technology and eCommerce
- Leverage the capabilities of Big Red Group's technology platform LA2 to scale the local agent business.
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance partner adoption of the platform and improve user experience.
- Collaborate with internal product and technology teams to align business needs with platform development.
Marketing Leadership
- Oversee the marketing strategy and execution for Experience Oz via Local Agent, focusing on acquisition marketing and brand growth in close partnership with the consumer team.
- Leverage insights and analytics to optimise marketing performance across channels.
Commercial Strategy
- Own the P&L for the local agent business, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the travel and tourism ecosystem.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sales and marketing objectives with overall businessgoals.
About You
- Experience: 7+ years in sales and marketing, with a strong background in B2B environments, travel, tourism, or technology sales.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire sales and marketing teams across multiple locations.
- Commercial Acumen: Skilled in P&L management, strategic planning, and driving growth through technology and marketing initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience: leveraging technology platforms and eCommerce solutions to scale businesses with proven results.
- Industry Knowledge:Familiarity with travel, tourism, and retail industries, with existing relationships in RTOs and STOs a plus.
- Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
