About the Role
Keeping the customer at the heart of all activities, this position will:
- Promote a results-driven culture where staff take responsibility for delivering the Council's Corporate Plan and policies.
- Follow reasonable directions to support business continuity during disruptions, emergencies, or disasters.
- Assist the Senior Exhibition and Collections Officer with planning, installing, and removing gallery exhibitions—including lighting, labels, artwork presentation, and documentation.
- Support the coordination of logistics for both incoming and outgoing exhibitions and gallery programs.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized gallery spaces, workshops, and storage areas, following WHS policies.
- Support and guide casual Gallery Assistants during exhibition setups and pack-downs, including lighting, hanging artworks, and labelling.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated visible leadership in promoting a positive safety culture, with a strong commitment to due diligence, compliance, and meeting legislative obligations.
- Proven ability to plan and coordinate logistics related to the presentation of exhibitions.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High-level computer skills using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word, along with familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Well-developed knowledge of professional gallery practices and standards, and a sound understanding of visual arts processes—particularly in relation to all aspects of exhibition installation and changeovers.
