About The Role
This position has a significant role in supporting the delivery of Ephemera, delivering the annual maintenance schedule for over 260 public artworks, supporting the provision of the Street Art program and commissioned sculptural artworks. This position also maintains data in the Collection Management System and works closely with the Collection Management Officer and Senior Public Art Officer in this work.
About You
The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Visual Arts, Art History, Museum Studies, or a related discipline, and/or relevant professional experience. They will demonstrate strong organisational skills in coordinating logistics for public art projects, including street art, and possess a sound understanding of gallery practices, collection management, and conservation standards. With the ability to work independently and collaboratively, they will bring excellent interpersonal skills to foster strategic partnerships and achieve team objectives. Proficiency in self-directed learning and familiarity with digital tools such as the Adobe suite, collection management systems, and business databases is essential. The candidate will have a solid grasp of the role of public art in activating spaces, with experience in open space exhibitions being highly desirable. Strong problem-solving and time management abilities are crucial, particularly in dynamic, multi-tasking environments. A thorough understanding of Workplace Health and Safety procedures is required, along with a current Working with Children Blue Card. Additional certifications such as Elevated Work Platform, Working at Heights, and a White Card for construction site access would be advantageous.
