Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven General Manager (GM) to lead Griffin Marine operations nationwide, spanning across Sydney, Perth, Cairns, Darwin and Brisbane.

This key leadership role is accountable for the safe, profitable and on-time delivery of all projects and services. Reporting to the Managing Director, Griffin Industrial the GM will translate strategy into action -driving process optimisation, operational excellence and continuous performance improvement to achieve key business objectives.

This position is location flexible, with relocation assistance available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the safe and efficient delivery of all projects across marine and industrial operations.

• Own and continuously improve operational processes, SOPs and risk management systems.

• Drive performance through data, technology and Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives.

• Manage national Profit & Loss reporting, productivity and cash conversion to achieve business targets.

• Champion HSEQ compliance and lead a strong culture of safety and accountability.

• Engage directly with frontline teams through site visits and leadership presence.

• Develop and mentor operational leaders to build a high-performing national workforce.

• Strengthen client and supplier relationships to ensure consistent service excellence.

• Partner with corporate functions HSEQ, HR and Finance under Griffin Industrial's shared services model.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

• Proven experience as a Senior Operational Manager or General Manager in a national, multi-disciplinary business.

• Formal qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or related field.

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Solid understanding of WHS, HR, and financial compliance within Australian operations.

• Proficiency with business systems - Aroflo, Employment Hero, MYOB, or similar ERP platforms.

Desirable:

• Experience in the maritime, industrial, or heavy engineering sectors.

• Prior leadership of blue-collar or trade-based teams.
