The Role

The Learning Diversity Department at MLC is dedicated to valuing, celebrating, and supporting the individual differences of every student. We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Integration Support Staff member to join our team.

Some of your primary duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support for students with diverse learning needs, including students with ASD, ADHD, and/or EAL backgrounds.
  • Assisting with communication, preparation of resources, and adjustments to learning materials in collaboration with teachers.
  • Supporting students in developing academic, social, and self-care skills in line with Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) or recommendations from external professionals.
  • Supporting student participation in classroom activities, mobility, and physical activities, including camps and co-curricular programs where required.
  • Working closely with the Learning Diversity team and classroom teachers to share strategies and monitor student progress.
  • Contributing to an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive.

About You

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build supportive relationships with students and staff.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with students with diverse needs, particularly those with High Functioning Autism (ASD) and/or ADHD.
  • Ability to support students from EAL backgrounds (desirable).
  • Sensitive, collaborative, and confidential approach to working with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Effective planning and organisational skills.
  • Previous experience in a student support role is highly regarded.
  • Current Working with Children Check (or VIT registration if applicable).
  • Right to work in Australia.
  • Adherence to all College policies and demonstration of behaviours in accordance with the Child Safe Standards.
