About the Role
We are looking for casual CDP's to join the team at Rydges Melbourne. You'll play a key role in the day-to-day success of Bossley Bar & Restaurant. Bursting with seasonal selections from around the region, the menu is a collection of Bossley's favourite things. We're talking classic techniques, exquisite execution, and dishes that always hero the top-tier produce and small bites bar-side. The hotel offers pre-theatre menus, private dining, a la carte breakfast and IRD. We are looking for chefs that have experience across all sections and can deliver consistent and high-quality food.
Skills & Experience
- 2+ years' experience as a CDP in hotels, restaurants, or a similar environment.
- A genuine passion for food and experience across the kitchen including pans and grill
- A passion for cooking Aussie/European cuisine.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Attention to detail, well-presented and high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to multitask and perform under pressure, while still delivering a high standard.
- A strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent high-quality food production across all hotel kitchens, adhering to standard recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Prepare and present a variety of dishes including sauces, soups, hot meals, pantry items, and specialty menu offerings with proper garnishing.
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards, including correct storage practices and a clean, safe working environment.
- Monitor inventory and requisition supplies in line with hotel policies to support efficient kitchen operations.
- Demonstrate strong product and recipe knowledge, staying up to date with menu items and maintaining WH&S compliance.
- Foster teamwork and professionalism, maintaining grooming standards and positive relationships with service team members.
