Primary objective
Provide program advice and support to the Program Directors in planning the housing programs to meet client and program
expectations.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide program advice and support to the Program Directors in the planning of the housing program, which will be delivered
by the regional teams.
2. Assist in the development and monitoring of the overarching program schedule that factors in community constraints and aligns
with the program key deliverables, budget requirements and cost-effective delivery.
3. Coordinate and manage Community Housing Master Plans for remote communities and town camps in allocated region/s as
identified in the footprint of the Remote Housing Federal Funding Agreement.
4. Prepare documentation for community consultation, including but not limited to stakeholder engagement plans and maps
showing community constraints.
5. Set projects up in the system and record management databases, ensuring sufficient budget allocation and delivery times align
with program deliverables.
- Prepare requests for services for the regional teams to deliver packages of works, ensuring all approvals are in place, including
but not limited land tenure, sacred sites clearances and development approvals.
- Develop and maintain networks internally and externally, to ensure teams are working together to ensure smooth delivery of
the program.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in program planning, contract and project management within the construction and
development sectors in regional and remote areas.
2. Demonstrated experience in program reporting and financial management.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and preparing master planning, including identifying and obtaining all necessary
approvals.
4. Relevant personal attributes including initiative, innovative and flexible solutions, forward planning, time and resource
management and to work collaboratively within diverse teams.
5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to proactively engage with the community, as well as effectively communicate
and negotiate across all levels of the department and individual stakeholder groups.
A sound knowledge of cross-cultural issues affecting the delivery of projects to remote Northern Territory communities.
Willingness and ability to travel to remote communities for short periods on small aircraft or 4WD.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in Business, Construction Management, Project Management or other related discipline.
2. An understanding of Government programming and procurement procedures.
