Wellbeing Worker Positions Available (Full-time, Part-time and Casual)

The Wellbeing Worker plays a key role in supporting TeamHEALTH tenants or participants through day to day activities, mentoring, and engagement in community-based programs. This role focuses on fostering hope, connection, and independence by providing practical assistance and encouragement to tenants or participants of our Housing and Homelessness programs. Drawing on lived or professional experience, the Wellbeing Worker offers guidance through active listening, shared experiences, and respectful suggestions, while maintaining clear and appropriate professional boundaries at all times.
Working under the direction of the Coordinator, Team Leader, or Program Manager, and while working as a team, the Wellbeing Worker contributes towards the delivery of a range of early intervention and recovery-oriented supports. These supports are tailored to individual needs and are delivered in a way that is person-centred, strengths-based, culturally responsive, and timely.
Responsibilities may include facilitating residential, outreach, or group based activities, supporting tenants to build daily living skills, and encouraging engagement in social, recreational, and community opportunities. The Wellbeing Worker will also support tenants to explore and work toward their personal goals through respectful, strengths-focused conversations and practical mentoring. The Wellbeing worker may also work closely with the Coordinator delivering brokerage supports to people at risk of homelessness. This includes both participant or tenant facing and administrative tasks.
Essential for this position:
TeamHEALTH recognises the value of experience in all facets of life and work and encourages First Nations applicants and those with lived experience of mental health challenges.
- Understanding of how mental illness can affect an individual's day to day living.
- Understanding of the recovery model and psychosocial rehabilitation and/or demonstrated application of a strength-based approach, with competence in a range of interventions relevant to children and young people, and a commitment to upholding child safe principles and practices in service delivery.
- Action orientated, flexible and innovative with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team.
- Ability to uphold the rights of people with a mental illness.
- Demonstrated ethical work practices including and understanding of appropriate personal boundaries.
- Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to interact with a diverse range of people.
- Demonstrated computer literacy.
