As a Data & AI Steward, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our data and AI practices are ethical, compliant, and transparent. You'll work closely with Information Asset Owners and cross-functional teams to embed stewardship into our data pipelines and AI models, fostering a culture of accountability and trust across Bupa.
What you'll be doing
Stewardship Services & Practices
- Define and standardise stewardship services and practices across Bupa APAC.
- Promote best practices through our Data & AI Steward Community of Practice.
- Explore innovative approaches to stewardship using AI-assisted technologies and automation.
Data Quality
- Prioritise critical data for quality controls based on business needs.
- Define business rules and monitor data quality using dashboards.
- Support impact assessments of data quality issues.
Metadata Management
- Help define metadata architecture and maintain business glossaries.
- Contribute to automation of governance controls using metadata.
Security & Privacy
- Support Privacy and Information Security Assessments, including AI-specific evaluations.
AI Assessments
- Conduct scheduled assessments of AI models to ensure compliance with laws and Bupa standards.
- Report compliance status and recommend corrective actions.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with data engineering, analytics, and AI teams to embed embed stewardship in standard data practices and handling
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Stay current with industry trends and contribute to process and tool improvements.
- Advocate for robust and transparent data and AI/ML controls.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in data governance and management.
- Strong understanding of data management, AI ethics, governance frameworks, metadata management and data quality
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills and stakeholder management
- Experience with data governance tools e.g. Ataccama, Collibra, Alation etc.
- Good understanding of AI/ML technologies e.g. MLFlow
- Familiarity with compliance requirements including Health Act 1988, APRA CPS 234, and APRA CPG 235
