A leading Australian private equity fund is looking to appoint an Investment Manager to join its Sydney team. The firm has a strong record of investing in and transforming mid-market businesses, with a focus on growth and operational improvement.

The Role

As an Investment Manager, you'll take a senior role in deal execution and portfolio value creation. You'll be expected to lead workstreams, manage junior team members, and build strong relationships with management teams and advisers. This is a hands-on position with direct exposure to investment decisions and portfolio company boards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial analysis, structuring, and due diligence across live transactions
  • Drive preparation of investment papers and presentations for the IC
  • Manage and mentor Associates and Analysts, ensuring quality and efficiency
  • Work closely with portfolio management teams on strategy, growth, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Play an active role in sourcing and evaluating new opportunities

About You

  • 3–7 years' experience in private equity, with a proven track record in deal execution and portfolio work
  • Prior private equity experience is essential
  • Strong commercial judgement, stakeholder skills, and leadership ability
  • Ambitious, entrepreneurial, and motivated by the challenge of building businesses
