JOB PURPOSE:

As a Quality Assurance Officer, you will be providing quality incident support and response in a clear and timely manner, ensuring any potential breaches to standards or non-conformant trends are effectively managed or escalated. You will work along internal teams and manage cross functional stakeholders on incident management and maintain Quality Loss data collection systems, investigation register, cost of quality related holds and rework. You will also participate in investigations and root cause analyses for deviations as required and assist in improvement projects currently running at Minto.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor all critical and quality control points within the production lines for all products being manufactured
  • Support day to day laboratory testing of finish goods, semi finish goods, starting materials
  • Support environmental and water testing, conduct microbiological sampling and monitoring plan
  • Support maintenance of testing lab consumables
  • Monitoring the concentration of disinfectants used on site
  • Conduct and organize the calibration and validation of lab equipment (balance, autoclave, FOSS equipment etc.)
  • Participate in GMP inspections and Internal Audits
  • Participate in traceability exercises as required
  • Investigate consumer complaints by liaising with cross functional teams and ensure respective action plans are in place
  • Review and update documents and support factory validations
  • Release and Hold finished goods
  • Coordinate sample collection and rework activities from the warehouse

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Technical Skills:

  • Laboratory testing (finished goods, semi-finished goods, raw materials).

  • Microbiological sampling and environmental monitoring.
  • Calibration and validation of lab equipment (balances, autoclaves, FOSS equipment).
  • GMP compliance and internal audit participation.
  • HACCP knowledge and application.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Soft Skills:

  • Time management and prioritization.

  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Stakeholder management and teamwork.
  • Investigative and analytical skills for complaints and deviations.
  • Education:

  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, or related scientific discipline.

  • Experience:

  • QA/QC experience in food manufacturing or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Prior exposure to HACCP systems (highly regarded).
  • Experience with GMP inspections and audits.
  • Other Requirements:

  • Current driver's license.

  • Full-time availability (5 days per week).

As publicly announced, Unilever will separate its Ice Cream business which is expected by the end of 2025. This role will transfer to the new Ice Cream company.
