the maleny pie guy hq is looking for a supervisor/manager to help lead my small, awesome team onto bigger and brighter things. this is a hands-on leadership role - from behind the coffee machine and serving with a smile, to steering day-to-day operations and, most importantly, helping pie guy hq grow.

casual contract 3-5 days to start (including 1 weekend day) with the view to permanent part-time or full-time contract after the initial trial. if you want to be part of something bigger, this role could grow into a key leadership position within the maleny pie guy.

the role

along with general pie guy duties (barista, baking, awesome customer service) you will also assist the team with day-to-day operations, be the key point of contact between the production kitchen and pie guy hq, our regulars and the curious tourists. you'll have the freedom to work autonomously, with guidance and support when required.

responsibilities will include:

  • leading and supporting the team to deliver consistent quality and service
  • managing rosters, coordinating shift changes and help interview and onboard new hires
  • oversee stock control and ordering
  • be my customer facing contact for feedback and improvements requested
  • further development of systems, procedures and training
  • assist in sales growth - exploring new income streams, offerings and ideas

  • competent barista skills (adjusting grinder, maintaining consistency)
  • ideally supervisory/management experience in previous café/bakery/hospitality setting, or those wanting to step up with transferable skills and a desire to grow
  • a great listener and communicator who can lead by example and bring out the best in others
  • reliable, organised, and comfortable balancing customers, staff, and daily operations
  • a hands-on leader who's happy to jump in, or step up, when needed
