About the
role
We're seeking a motivated and talented
Policy
Officer
to join our Agency Services team. Reporting to the General Counsel, you'll play a vital
role
in shaping the future of the real estate industry in NSW by analysing, advising on and responding to proposed government
policy
and legislation, and helping to develop REINSW's
policy
positions.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys diving into interesting issues, working with industry stakeholders and influencing positive change. You'll have the chance to mentor and support junior colleagues, contribute to industry updates, projects and resources, and be at the forefront of key advocacy initiatives.
What you'll be doing
- Research, analyse and advise on legislative and
policy
developments affecting the real estate industry - Prepare submissions,
policy
papers and advocacy materials - Consult with REINSW's members, committees and external stakeholders
- Support the development of industry resources, best practice documents and compliant real estate forms
- Contribute to member training, communications and events as a subject matter expert
What we're looking for
To be successful in this
role
, you will have:
- A degree in Law or English (Law preferred)
- 2–3 years' experience in
policy
, legal or regulatory work - Demonstrated
policy
lawyer experience -
Highly Advantageous - Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- The ability to manage competing deadlines with attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain strong relationships across REINSW, members, industry and government
- A proactive, adaptable approach with a genuine interest in
policy
, real estate and continual learning
