We are seeking to establish a pool of Technical Support Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
The Technical Support Officer should ideally provide advice on technical issues and collaborate with administration to maintain and develop the network system. You should ideally also provide technical support and training to all users throughout the school site on various software applications and provide access to systems and resources. In this role you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of information systems and IT equipment in accordance with the school business needs and Department of Education policies and guidelines. This includes maintaining accurate records of ICT assets and resources and the development, implementation, and monitoring of a replacement plan.

Suitable applicants will ideally be able to strategize and prioritise to ensure the timely completion of work, whilst continually providing high quality support to students and staff who have varying levels of IT knowledge. Ideally you will have the ability to work as part of a team, liaise with other Department of Education personnel and communicate with external providers. Experience working in a school would be highly desirable and in particular a thorough understanding of standard operating systems and their associated software. Suitable applicants would work with a diverse range of people and professionals to deliver customer service. The ability to build strong relationships and to work well with key stakeholders is highly desirable.

Suitable applicants will ideally promote a collaborative, positive approach in providing opportunities for all staff and students to achieve the best possible outcomes. They should ideally be pro-active and innovative in Information Technology processes and systems and have excellent Customer Service skills.

Suitable applicants should provide training, advice and support to staff and students on desktop, software applications, school wireless/network connectivity for different devices, particularly iOS devices, and research and identify appropriate software packages and other resources.

In this role, you would assist with the installation and upgrading of Information Technology systems and maintain accurate records of assets and resources. Experience in the use and administration of Compass, osTicket and Windows server will be highly valued.
