The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced and detail-oriented Geoscientists to join our Geoscience team at our head office in Osborne Park. You will be at the forefront of processing, interpreting and delivering high-quality geoscience data. You'll have the chance to develop innovative solutions, ensure data accuracy and directly contribute to the success of major mining and exploration projects.

Key Responsibilities

Processing Data

Checking and collating standard field data for delivery to clients utilising in house data checking software;

Interpret geoscience data, including (but not limited to):

  • o Integrated Formation Evaluation

o Structural interpretation from televiewers

· Assist the Principal Geoscientist to document all processes/procedures in the system,

· Maintain a high level of accurate, quality and consistent data utilising Geoscience Data Management System;

· Assist the Principal Geoscientist to identify errors and areas of improvements for loggers, procedures and training;

· Interface with clients to resolve data queries

· Ensure all archiving processes are adhered with.

Reporting

· Generate regular data reports of work completed (e.g. Logging Update report) for internal reporting and client reports

· Report on data errors or omissions from the field – coordinate with the field to correct issues

· Reporting of any identified data quality incidents, including follow-up to ensure incidents are closed;

· Report on daily activities using a browser-based reporting system;

Service Quality Objectives

· Able to generate results with less than 1% client rejection (error rate);

· Delivery of all data as per client requirements

· Accurately report and close out Data Quality Incidents.

Continuous Improvement

· Contribute to the identification and implementation of opportunities for continuous Improvements

Selection Criteria

This role is best suited for a geoscience professional with a strong geology or geotechnical background. You should be detail-oriented, proactive and passionate about working with geoscience data to drive meaningful outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in geoscience, wireline, EM, with at least 2 years in the mining industry preferred
  • Degree in geology, geophysics, physics or a related field
  • High level of computer literacy and experience with geoscience software
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within small teams
  • Strong experience in technical report writing and data interpretation
  • Practical experience with WellCAD, Python and automation processes is highly beneficial
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate complex geoscientific concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders
