We are seeking a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our dynamic team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Position Overview:As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies that enhance the quality of life for our clients. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to design individualised behaviour support plans, provide direct support, and ensure that all interventions are delivered with respect and empathy.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and monitor individualised Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans for clients.
- Conduct functional behaviour assessments to identify the root causes of challenging behaviours.
- Collaborate with clients, families, and other professionals to create and maintain supportive environments.
- Provide direct support and guidance to clients, promoting skill development and positive behaviour changes.
- Train and mentor staff and caregivers on PBS strategies and techniques.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress and behaviour support plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or a related health field
- Registration with the NQSC as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner (preferred)
- Previous experience in a similar role working with individuals with developmental or behavioral needs.
- Strong knowledge of PBS principles, behaviour assessment, and intervention techniques.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and compassionately with clients, families, and team members.
- People with 2+ Yrs experience within the NDIS industry (SC, SSC etc) who would like to be supported in applying for the Alternate Pathway to become a BSP Clinician are also encouraged to apply.
