Principal Engineer (Owner's Engineer) – 12 Month Contract

Short Description

Lead technical reviews as an Owner's Engineer on major water infrastructure projects.

We are partnering with a boutique consultancy supporting a tier-1 utilities provider through their Engineering Services Panel. As a Principal Engineer (Owner's Engineer), you will provide independent technical oversight across water infrastructure projects, ensuring that design documentation and engineering solutions meet required standards.

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and validating engineering documents delivered by leading consultants, providing assurance that technical requirements are consistently met. This fixed-term 12-month contract offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping major utilities infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities


• Review and validate engineering documentation from tier-one consultants


• Provide independent technical assurance and recommendations


• Advise on engineering policies, standards, and procedures


• Coordinate work programs and support decision-making


• Direct or advise on specialised systems, equipment, and materials


• Provide technical guidance to engineering staff where required

About you


• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng and/or RPEQ)


• Proven background as a Principal Engineer or Owner's Engineer


• Strong capability in technical assurance and document review


• Experience across water, utilities, or infrastructure projects
