Support Vehicles Australia is a leading Design and Manufacture organisation supplying bespoke heavy equipment to key clients primarily in the Mining Industry within Western Australia. An opportunity is available for a Trades Assistant / Spotter to join our Fabrication Workshops in a permanent full-time capacity at our Bassendean facility.

Casual contracts will also be considered.

This role is suitable for entry level applicants wanting to grow into a fabrication apprenticeship.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor workers in a confined space environment to guarantee their safety.
  • Prepare / collect materials
  • Clean workshop and restock consumables
  • Assist with steel/material receivals
  • Other tasks as required by the supervisor to assist in the effective running of the workshop

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions carefully.
  • Good physical stamina as the role involves manual labor and lifting heavy objects if necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with tradespeople and other team members.

Qualifications:

  • Forklift Licence desirable
  • Confined Space Entry Certificate (must have)

Hours of work : Monday to Friday 6am to 4pm, occasional Saturday 6am to 12pm.

Rate of pay from $27.40 per hour (flat) (21-year-old +)
