About Us:

Indigenous Shared Services Group (ISSG) is a partnership of Aboriginal businesses that co-invest, pool and share resources to help Aboriginal individuals, families and communities trade, invest and work together to create a self-determining economic future.

We are looking for an experienced Carpenter to join Palyku Resources and their Maintenance Team operating on a mine site in Pilbara.

This is a FIFO role with 8:6 roster.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Assist skilled tradespeople with task and projects as directed by the supervisor.
  • Clean and prepare job sites by removing debris and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Maintain and organize tools, equipment and materials.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment as needed.
  • Load and unload materials and equipment as needed.
  • Measure, cut and prepare materials as required by tradespeople.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Work closely with the supervisor to ensure tasks are completed on time and to specification.
  • Provide regular updates and report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate with other team members and trades as needed to complete projects.

Qualifications and skills required:

Forklift licence (Desirable)

  • Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance tasks.
  • White card holder.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Non-negotiable safety attitude to undertaking all tasks in a safe manner and complete all required documentation prior to commencing such task.
  • Qualification to undertake working at heights duties for roof maintenance (Desirable)
  • Unrestricted C class drivers' licence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Other tasks as required that fall within skill sets.
