About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team, specialising in General Kitchenware, Tabletop (Crockery, Cutlery, Glassware), and Buffet Items.

As an industry leader in the Hospitality sector, our company takes pride in delivering premium products and exceptional service to our clients.

This role is instrumental in ensuring our continued success by managing supplier relationships, negotiating competitive terms, and sourcing high-quality products that align with our brand values.

The Purchasing Manager will report directly to the Chief Procurement Officer and work closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Planning teams to support tenders, product development, forecasting, and brand representation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Strategy

  • Implement procurement strategies in alignment with the company's commercial goals and under the direction of the CPO.

  • Assist in managing sourcing, purchasing, and supplier negotiations for both own brand and agency brand products.
  • Evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with company standards for quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Market Research & Opportunity Development

  • Lead market research efforts to identify new product and category opportunities, emerging trends, and evolving customer needs.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to support business growth, assortment planning, and new product development.
  • Supplier & Brand Management

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with agency brands, ensuring alignment on supply chain expectations (pricing and product availability), marketing strategies, and training initiatives.

  • Arrange product training sessions with agency brands to keep internal teams up to date with product knowledge, features, and sales tools.
  • Identify and engage new suppliers and manufacturers where appropriate, leveraging on our global sourcing networks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimise product selection and procurement cycles.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Planning, and Customer Service teams to ensure successful product launches (product flow and launch readiness.), accurate demand planning, and effective market penetration.

  • Support Sales and Projects teams in preparing tenders, quotes, and large-scale project tenders.
  • Work closely with Logistics and Operations to ensure smooth inbound and outbound product flow.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all products comply with relevant regulations, standards, and safety requirements, both locally and internationally.

  • Monitor and maintain documentation for compliance verification and product certification.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Conduct regular price benchmarking, inventory analysis, and supplier performance reviews.

  • Prepare detailed procurement reports and present insights to the CPO and CEO

Key Attributes

  • Relevant experience in the Housewares sector
  • Strategic thinker with strong operational execution skills.
  • Highly organised, analytical, attention to detail and process driven.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to take direction and work under the guidance of the CPO.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills required to track procurement KPIs.
  • Experience with ERP or product management systems is an advantage
