About the role
The Production Trainer – Fitter/ Machinist is accountable for the development and delivery of both apprentice training, and technical training programs for manufacturing production team members.
This is a fast-paced environment with a reputation for manufacture of high-performance motorsport and aerospace heat exchangers for domestic and global markets.
Under the direction of the Technical Training Manger, the Production Trainer is responsible to ensure a safe, productive environment and foster a positive work environment by supporting team members to learn, grow, and develop.
The Production Trainer will be responsible (but not limited to) the following job duties:
- Deliver apprentice training in Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical (Fitting/Machining)
- Assist and support creation of training materials, including manuals, presentations, and hands-on exercises, aligning with PWR manufacturing processes and expectations.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to stay current on PWR manufacturing processes, technologies, and safety protocols.
- Conduct training sessions on safe equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and quality control measures.
- Assess trainee performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance skill development.
- Stay abreast of advancements in manufacturing technology to continually update training content.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and adherence to PWR's Health, Safety and Wellbeing system within the production team.
- Support the onboarding process by delivering introductory training modules for new hires.
- Collaborate with production managers to identify training needs and tailor programs accordingly.
- Maintain training records and documentation to track employee progress and compliance.
About you
Our successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Trade qualified in appropriate technical field (Cert III in Engineering – Fitting/Machining
- Training and/or coaching skills or qualifications (TAE or Diploma of VET highly regarded)
- 5 years or more of experience delivering apprentice and/or technical training
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, whilst ensuring confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills
- Ability to maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders
- You will be people and solutions focused and adaptable.
- Dedicated work ethic and professional behaviour
- Strong attention to detail and solution orientated
- You need to have a positive attitude even in challenging circumstances
