Our People team is looking for a SAP Payroll Design Lead in our People Services team based in Mt Waverley VIC.

Join our team in a lead role where you'll support system enhancements that improve efficiency, reduce manual effort and complexity, and help ensure compliance across a national SAP Payroll environment. You'll lead the design and delivery of streamlined, automated, and compliant solutions, while maintaining a strong governance framework to safeguard obligations, protect organisational reputation, and enhance the employee experience.
What Will You Do?
Leading a small team and fostering a customer-focused, continuous improvement culture, you will:
- lead and enhance the SAP Payroll Governance Framework, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and industrial instruments
- engage stakeholders to gather and validate system requirements aligned with governance and business controls
- analyse complex employment conditions to advise on payroll impacts and recommend streamlined, standardised solutions
- identify and mitigate payroll system risks to maintain compliance and avoid disruption
- oversee SAP Payroll changes and projects using formal project management approaches
- manage payroll audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings and implementation of actions
- maintain accurate documentation, tools, and workflows that support governance and operational needs
More About You
You're an experienced SAP Payroll systems leader with a strong understanding of compliance, system optimisation, and stakeholder engagement. You will bring:
- deep expertise in SAP Payroll and HR configuration, including Australian payroll legislation and enterprise agreement application
- proven ability to lead governance frameworks and system change initiatives
- sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on risk reduction and continuous improvement
- excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex terms into system solutions.
