We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and enthusiastic Accountant to join our team.

This role plays a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations,

including invoice processing, payment preparation, expense management, supplier

communication and management accounting. The successful candidate will have strong

reconciliation skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance, and a

proactive mindset for continuous improvement. With a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and

relationship management, this role supports the broader finance team and contributes to the

smooth running of our financial systems and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable & Payments: Process and verify invoices, match with purchase orders/contracts, prepare payments (cards, transfers), and manage employee expenses.
  • Financial Records & Reconciliation: Maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies, and prepare regular financial reports.
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate with suppliers on finance matters and maintain positive relationships; liaise with banks and financial institutions for funding and cash flow.
  • Management Accounting & Compliance: Handle bank reconciliations, BAS returns, accruals, prepayments, tax compliance, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Audit & Advisory: Conduct audits, financial investigations, and provide advice on taxation, business structures, mergers, acquisitions, and risk management.
  • Systems & Process Improvement: Implement and maintain accounting systems, ERP tools, and internal controls; streamline processes to improve efficiency.
  • Strategic Finance: Support budgeting, policy formulation, cash flow management, and evaluation of capital investment projects.

Key Skills and Attributes

  • The ideal experience and critical competencies for the role include the following:
  • Minimum 1 year relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or similar
  • Familiarity with MYOB and Xero strongly preferred.
  • Ability to perform regular reconciliations of accounts, ensuring that payments, invoices, and financial records align with statements and general ledger accounts.
  • A solid understanding of basic accounting principles such as debits, credits, and the general ledger, and knowledge of GST for tax compliance.
  • Articulate with strong communication skills and ability to liaise frequently with suppliers and project leaders.
  • A mindset that looks for opportunities to improve the accounts payable process, whether it is through automation, better practices, or learning new tools and techniques.
  • Friendly, positive attitude and highly growth oriented.
