Design & Commercial Lead

Location: Global / Head Office in Sydney

We're after a commercially wired design captain — someone who lives for creativity, speaks fluent spreadsheet, high-fives technology, and performs beautifully under pressure.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 90 days:

  • Project margin performance tracking and reporting humming with crystal-clear visibility.
  • Sampling cycle times trimmed and workflows sharpened — everyone knows who does what when.
  • A living design calendar and dashboard that teams actually use (and love).
  • A bold AI- or tech-powered innovation plan scoped and sprinting.
  • Offshore design team engagement and accountability climbing month-on-month.
  • Rock-solid alignment between Design, Sales, and Production on priorities and hand-off.

Beyond that, you'll drive:

  • Design projects delivered consistently on time and on margin — no drama, just results.
  • Global design trends translated into products that fly off showroom floors.
  • Operational efficiency through smarter systems, cleaner data, and sharper reporting.
  • A values-led, creative, high-performing culture that travels brilliantly across regions.

You Bring

  • Experience across fashion, media, textiles, or creative industries with a track record of commercial wins.
  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills (especially Illustrator), plus confidence with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Strong financial literacy — dissecting margins, ROI, and design profitability without breaking a sweat.
  • Curiosity for AI and emerging tech that accelerate speed, quality, and output.
  • Proven success leading and motivating teams (including offshore) to hit ambitious targets.
  • Ability to collaborate confidently across cultures, time zones, and markets.
  • A love of design and trend-spotting paired with razor-sharp business instincts.
