Overview

A senior leadership role responsible for driving health, safety, and environmental excellence across a large-scale mining operation. This position offers the opportunity to shape organisational culture, elevate safety standards, and make a measurable impact on the wellbeing of employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and improvement of HSE strategies and systems
  • Champion a proactive safety culture that focuses on hazard identification and behavioural leadership
  • Partner with senior leaders, operational teams, and contractors to align safety objectives with operational goals
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, internal standards, and industry best practice
  • Oversee investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on HSE performance metrics
  • Deliver HSE training and capability programs across all levels

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive HSE leadership experience within mining or heavy industry
  • Strong knowledge of safety legislation, environmental management, and risk frameworks
  • Proven ability to lead cultural change and improve safety performance
  • Experience in contractor management and collaborative safety initiatives
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organisational levels
  • Recognised HSE qualification (Diploma/Degree in OHS, Environmental Science, or similar)
  • Incident investigation and risk management accreditation (desirable)
