- Deliver training, coaching, and mentoring to leaders and employees on safety systems and risk management practices
- Manage the HSE document and records management system, ensuring all documentation is current, accessible, and properly maintained
- Coordinate internal audits, inspections, and assurance programs, overseeing corrective actions through to completion
- Ensure ongoing compliance with WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and Self-Insurance requirements
- Manage relationships with regulators, auditors, and certification bodies, responding to findings and maintaining certifications
- Support incident, hazard, and near-miss investigations, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
- Monitor changes to safety legislation and regulations, updating systems and communicating requirements across the business
- Develop and distribute HSE performance reports, including KPIs, trend analysis, and improvement recommendations
- Facilitate safety committee meetings and drive employee consultation and engagement on safety matters
- Partner with operational leaders to embed a proactive safety culture and ensure accountability at all levels
Do you have…
- Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related discipline
- Lead Auditor qualification in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an HSE Systems or Assurance role
- Proven experience developing and implementing accredited or self-insured WHS management systems in high-risk or transport/logistics environments
- Demonstrated experience managing audits, assurance programs, and maintaining compliance with WHS legislation and standards
- In-depth knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA), Regulations, and Codes of Practice
- Strong understanding of ISO 45001 principles and ReturnToWorkSA Self-Insurance performance standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE management systems software
